Treasurer

Do you enjoy working with funds, systems, and processes that make a real impact? At Open Doors International, we rely on effective financial stewardship to ensure that resources reach the people and projects that need them most. Grants play a vital role in strengthening our work for the Persecuted Church, both in supporting the Field and in enabling Development teams to raise funds.

To support this mission, we’re looking for a Treasurer to join our global Treasury, Risk & Compliance team.

You will be responsible for the full grant and cash management process, including developing systems for collection, directing transfers within Open Doors, and ensuring all funds are managed with accuracy and accountability. Your role will not only involve managing the flow of resources but also strengthening how we access them. You will research available grants and make sure funding is used in line with compliance requirements. In this way, you will support the organization in ensuring that every grant is maximized for impact.
You will be part of a committed and professional team and report to the Head of Treasury, Risk & Compliance.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing, monitoring and tracking grant/cash flow, and forecasting timing and amount of future flows in collaboration with Development and Field directors, financial staff, and ODI Executive Leadership Team and Finance.
  • Preparing cash flow reports, in which you identify and evaluate variances.
  • Reviewing and managing improvements in the process of grant/cash management, ensuring financial obligations are met in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Flagging issues and suggesting solutions to solve cash flow problems when grant requests exceed funding availability.
  • Completing grant/cash management documentation for new and existing Development and Field bases, including the preparation of correspondence and proposals to and for grant/cash application.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You are a committed Christian with a passion for the Persecuted Church.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • You have 5 – 8 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting, with a background in Treasury.
  • You are familiar with back cash management systems.
  • You are analytical and solve problems creatively.
  • You have strong organizational skills and are comfortable making timely and well-informed decisions.
  • You are comfortable working independently, but also enjoy being part of a team.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Dutch, and are able to communicate effectively across different cultures.
  • You are open to international travel.
